Industry Roundtables 2008-2009
This series of four full-day working meetings is being hosted by the University’s Health Informatics Steering Committee between May 2008 and March 2009.
The aim is of each Roundtable is to generate a leadership agenda for research funding and research training in coming years. Each provides a unique opportunity to map and connect many perspectives on research and development needs, capabilities and priorities.
Each roundtable is designed to build on one of our August 2007 Industry Workshop themes:
| Thursday May 15, 2008 | Health informatics and public health (Proceedings summary) |
| Thursday July 17, 2008 | Translating evidence into clinical practice and policy through informatics (Proceedings summary) |
| November 2008 TBA | eResearch collaboration with Vanderbilt University |
| March 2009 TBA | Health informatics education |
By bringing together leading producers and users of health information with leading academic researchers in the field each Roundtable seeks to develop the cross-institutional and cross-sectoral collaborations required for new knowledge and new directions in one aspect of health informatics.
These Roundtables are aimed at senior decision-makers from relevant interest groups in industry, clinical, government and community sectors - up to a maximum of 20 participants - along with academic experts from within the University of Melbourne and other Victorian universities. Attendance is by invitation.
